Colin Cole
Colin Cole (1931-87) also loved spectacular quality fabrics. His career started with a five-year apprenticeship as a cutter-designer. In 1958, he established his own studio making evening and debutant dresses and high quality daywear, winning a Golden Shears award in 1961.
His reputation as a leading high fashion designer in the 1960s, meant women travelled from all over the country to his studio for orders and fittings. As fashion and times changed in the 1970s he diversified into ready-to-wear for Deauville International, and in the 1980s sent ranges to a salon in Oman.
The EHCO collection has four Colin Cole designs.
