Pauline Kingston
Pauline Kingston had a particular skill in spinning and weaving that caught the eye of Eden Hore
Pauline Kingston (née Davis, b.1936) shot to controversial fame in Australia when she won the 1970 Australian Gown of the Year with a Merino and Lurex handwoven striped dress with stunning beaded bodice.
From New Zealand and trained in fashion illustration and design, she had married a New South Wales farmer and took up spinning and weaving at her country home. She produced about twelve fabric lengths a year in vibrant colours and designs which were made into hostess gowns, often with then fashionable hot pants.
Four Pauline Kingston outfits are in EHCO collection.
